Katayama American Company, Inc. (KACI) is proud to be a private, family-owned business, currently led by third-generation president Masayuki Katayama.

Since its founding in 1988, KACI has played a key role in bringing Katayama Manufacturing's expertise and advanced manufacturing solutions to North American OEMs. For over three decades, we’ve built a strong presence in Kentucky, committed to delivering superior products while contributing positively to the local economy.

A brief overview of our history

1947

Katayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. established.

1988

Katayama American Company, Inc. established.

1989

Launched production of exhaust components for Chrysler.

1990

Started production for Mazda and Mitsubishi.

1998

Received our QS-9000 quality system registration.

1999

Completed an expansion of the facility in preparation of new door sash business.

2001

Masayuki Katayama became President and CEO.

2002

Received our ISO-14001 environmental system registration.

2003

Completed our 2nd significant expansion for new sash and trim molding business.

2004

Received our TS-16949 quality system registration.

2005

Started molding production for Honda Canada.

2007

Launched of bright stainless trim molding.

2010

27,000 ft2 expansion for new door sash business.

2011

Started molding production for Honda Mexico.

2012

Started sash production for GM through working with global purchasing team.

2015

90,000 ft2 expansion for new door sash business.

2016

Started sash and molding production for Subaru.

2020

Consolidated debt and bolstered our cash reserves to prepare for acquisitions.
